Privacy Policy
MalParqueao RD is operated by Adonai Garcia, a sole proprietor based in the Dominican Republic, trading as ViaTechLabs. This policy describes how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use the MalParqueao RD mobile application ("the App"). For purposes of this policy, ViaTechLabs acts as the data controller for your personal data.
This English version of the policy is provided for international users. The Spanish version, available at viatechlabs.com/malparqueao/privacy, governs the relationship with users in the Dominican Republic. Both versions describe identical practices.
1. Information we collect
When you use the App, we collect the following:
Account information: Email address and an automatically generated username when you create your account.
Location data: GPS coordinates extracted from photos you upload or from your device (with your permission) to plot reports on the map. We do not track your location in the background.
Media content: Photos and videos you attach to your traffic violation reports.
Report data: Type of violation, date, time, location, comments, and license plates that you enter voluntarily.
Push notification token: If you authorize notifications, we store a technical identifier provided by Apple or Google that allows us to send you alerts about your reports.
2. How we use your information
We use your information to: display violation reports on the App's public map, calculate your score and rank within the community, send you notifications about the status of your reports, moderate and review published content, and improve the overall App experience.
3. Data sharing
Approved reports are publicly visible on the App's map, including the photo, location, type of violation, and license plate. Your username (automatically generated) may appear associated with your reports within the App. The content of reports (photos, location, type of violation) may be published on the official social media channels of MalParqueao RD for educational and awareness purposes, without including your personal contact information. We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for commercial purposes.
4. Anonymized data
ViaTechLabs may generate anonymized datasets from community reports to provide analytical services to third parties. Before sharing any data, all information that identifies individual users is removed, including usernames (even auto-generated ones), email addresses, and any other personal identifier. Anonymized data may include geographic locations, types of violations, dates, times, and statistical patterns. By using the App, you agree that your reports contribute to these anonymized datasets.
5. Storage and security
Your data is stored on secure servers provided by Supabase Inc., with encryption in transit (TLS 1.2+) and at rest. Passwords are hashed with bcrypt and never stored in plain text. We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your information. Supabase servers are located in the United States.
6. Your rights
In accordance with Law No. 172-13 on the Protection of Personal Data of the Dominican Republic, and extending rights similar to those recognized by the European Union's General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) to all of our users, you have the right to: access the information we hold about you through your profile, request the correction of inaccurate data, delete your account and all associated data from the profile section of the App, request a portable copy of your data, object to the processing of your data, and withdraw your consent at any time by ceasing to use the App. To exercise any of these rights, you may contact us at malparqueaord@gmail.com.
7. Minimum age
MalParqueao RD is intended exclusively for persons aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect information from minors. If we discover that we have collected data from a minor, we will delete it immediately. If you are a parent or legal guardian and believe that a minor in your care has provided us with personal information, please contact us at malparqueaord@gmail.com.
8. Push notifications
If you authorize push notifications, we will send you updates about the status of your reports and comments. You can disable notifications at any time from your device settings or from the profile section of the App.
9. Data retention
We retain your information for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, all your personal data (email, username, associated reports, comments, votes, and notification token) is permanently deleted from our servers within a maximum of 30 days. Aggregated and anonymized data may be retained indefinitely for statistical purposes.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes through the App. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
